About Us

Warr & Co Independent Financial Advisers Limited is directly authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and we act as Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs). This means that our advice is unbiased and solutions to your financial planning needs are sourced from the whole market rather than from a small, limited panel.

We are based in Stockport, Cheshire although we cover a broad geographical base with clients the length and breadth of the UK.

We offer a wealth of experience in dealing with a broad range of clients, which includes sole traders, partnerships, contractors, limited companies, professionals and high net worth individuals.

We comprise of two Financial Advisers / Directors, Jeff Crewdson and Steve Prosser, each of whom has over 25 years experience in the financial services industry. We consider ourselves to be vastly experienced and accustomed to all financial planning needs, be it pre & post retirement solutions, savings & investments, financial protection and tax planning.

Having been an integrated part of Warr & Co Chartered Accountants for over a decade, we became a separate company with effect from October 2011. We feel that our success to date lies in the fact that we offer independent financial advice that we believe to be complimentary to the accountancy and tax advice provided to our personal and corporate clients. We continue to work closely with our former accountancy colleagues to provide a comprehensive range of services and proactively tailor these to the needs of each client.

We believe that professional advice and services are paramount in all aspects of successful financial planning. It is very much our experience that people deal with people.

We have invested in technology to ensure we utilise modern means of communication and that our administration is efficient and, wherever possible, paperless.

Warr & Co Independent Financial Advisers Limited accepts Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) as an integral element of our financial planning work ethic and helps determine the success of our firm. The interests of our clients are paramount and central to our business plan. We therefore strive to perfect our service standards and continually improve the transparency with which we act for our clients. This will be achieved by way of the on-going review of our work practices and advice processes so that we have a working model that is fair to all our customers, and be proved to be so.

We welcome the opportunity to discuss how we can help you to build on your existing financial planning with a tailored service to suit your needs & requirements.

What we do

Your initial consultation with ourselves is at our expense. If you do not wish to take matters further, you are under no obligation to do so.

During our first meeting, either here at our office or at your home or place of work, we will discuss and document your financial planning needs and requirements and how we can help satisfy these. During this meeting, or prior where practicable, we will ask you to complete our financial questionnaire and perhaps further supplementary questionnaires dependant upon the specific advice you require. This establishes a base of information upon which we can ensure that the advice we provide is wholly appropriate.

We will provide you with a formal copy of our Client Agreement and agree the terms upon which we are to act. Our initial and, where applicable, ongoing fees will be agreed upfront based upon time anticipated to be incurred, complexity and value. Fees can be payable explicitly or in some cases be facilitated via a resulting transaction with an insurance company, pension provider or investment fund manager. Providing you are happy to engage our services, we will commence acting on your behalf.

We will engage in appropriate research. This includes, subject to appropriate written permissions, bringing together information pertaining to existing policies or investments. No matter how thorough your own record keeping is, it is often easier to let us do the ‘leg work’ for you, as we are required to establish up to date and often quite specific information, which needs to be requested from the provider.

We will prepare a report or reports that will formalise and detail the ‘Reasons why’ our specific recommendation(s). We will, where appropriate / necessary, arrange a further consultation or meeting to discuss our report and providing you are agreeable to our recommendations determine a strategy to implement these.

Once the initial advice process is concluded, we will agree a strategy for ongoing management and review of the financial planning implemented.

As part of our service, we offer: –

  • direct access to your appointed Independent Financial Adviser by phone or email,
  • further home / work visits (these may be at an additional charge),
  • regular mailshots detailing topical news, articles & legislative changes,
  • dedicated administrator.

Should you wish to consider ourselves to act on your behalf, we hereby enclose a link below to an example of our current Client Agreement for your prior consideration.
